Rachel Borsellino, Owner

JD, MA, LCPC, NCPC, Clinical Supervisor

Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Nationally Certified Parenting Coordinator (NCPC), and a Certified Mediator with the state of Illinois.  I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in criminal/social justice from Lewis University, my Master's Degree in Clinical Counseling from Lewis University, and my Juris Doctor Degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law.

I specialize in children, teens, families, and adults experiencing life adjustments, codependency, teen pregnancy and motherhood, parenting issues, parental alienation, narcissistic personality, reunification therapy, divorce, infidelity, domestic violence, depression, anxiety, and ADHD.

My therapeutic approach is collaborative, and grounded on the premise that we are not defined by our successes, circumstances, or shortcomings, but rather by the choices we make as a result.  Every day is an opportunity to change our lives in some way - to live a little different, to understand a little deeper, to grow a little stronger, and to push ourselves a little harder.  Whether you're in a good place looking to maintain, or in a dark place looking for a way out, you don’t have to do it alone.

In addition to being a therapist, I am a practicing divorce attorney, Guardian ad Litem, and owner of Borsellino Law & Mediation, LLC.

I enjoy working with children, adolescents and young adults as they work through anxiety, depression, life transitions, substance use, self esteem, relational issues and the everyday challenges.

My therapeutic approach is building a strong collaborative relationship to support and guide you while you work through your life journey. While working with you to develop creative interventions that fit your needs whether that be through Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Relaxation and Stress reduction, or working on creating a variety of skills to apply them to your everyday life. I believe what you put into things is what you’ll get out so the choice is always yours.

Hey there! I am a student at the University of St. Francis studying for my bachelor's in Social Work.  I am also an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) behavioral technician working primarily with children and adolescents on the autism spectrum.

My role at Grassroots Therapy Group is primarily an intake coordinator, providing assistance to all of our new or existing clients in every way that we can. This includes providing additional or outside resources, assisting with scheduling and intake paperwork, interfacing with insurance companies, and ensuring your time with us is the best it can be. I also serve as part of the supervised parenting time and safe exchange team. In this role, I assist in providing families with a safe, fun, conflict free visit with their children.
